Camila Phagouape was born in March 19, 1988 in Córdoba City, Argentina and moved to Rosario with her family in 1989. There she attended the private school Complejo Educativo de Alberdi, orientated toward communication, arts and design.
At a very young age she was interested in painting — taking art lessons every week. Her interest in music began at the age of 15, when she taught herself to play guitar and write songs. The following year, she started taking singing lesson with Prof. Graciela Mozzoni, which continued for 6 years. She took guitar lessons with professors as well, including two years with the bluesman Bonzo Morelli.
After high school, she studied Opera Singing and Composition at Music School, Faculty of Humanities and Arts of Rosario City. After 3 years, she stopped taking Opera singing lessons — she was more interested in singing rock pop music. She completed her degree in composition in 2012, earning the diploma of Technician of Harmony and Counterpoint.
In 2009, she started at Municipal Music School, completing the 3 year course, 'Interpretation of the Popular Song', dictated by the famous folk songwriter Jorge Fandermole. At the same time, she took Musicals lessons at El Circulo Theatre.
At the university, she met Juan Andres Mollo (a composition classmate) with whom she formed the music band DERIVA. Camila was the lead voice and rhythmic guitar. They played Beatles covers and songs written by Camila, performing in different pubs and theatres of Rosario City.
They played from 2010 to 2012.
In July 2012, Camila traveled to Spain to attend a music for film course in Escuela Creativa de Madrid. In 2013, she decided to move to Milan, Italy to attend the one year course 'Musica per L’Immagine' in Civica Scuola di Milano. There she acquired new composition skills and made a lot of different music works. The same year, she began singing lessons with the Prof. Tommaso Ferrarese in CPM. In 2014, she entered the one year master of 'Musica per Film' dictated by the italian composer Franco Piersanti and Sergio Miceli, also at Civica.
After she finished her studies, she has done the music of short-films which have been accepted into different film festivals in New York and Italy. In the present, she is writting music for several projects and teaching music. She is also performing in different pubs and venues.
